The Bridge was built from a single-span steel stringer with a reinforced concrete deck. The Bridge has two lanes of traffic with 6-inch sidewalks on each side. The total width of the Mill Street Bridge is 44.4 feet.

Per reports, an estimated 7,000 vehicles cross the Bridge daily. The Bridge helps provide a link to downtown. As a result of serious flooding in the area, the Bridge was flooded in July 2004 and April 2007.

Due to the flooding and traffic, there are currently erosions, sections of deterioration, and loss of a section in the deck. Therefore, the Mill Street Bridge is in need of some repairs. As of April 2026, there are plans to replace portions of structure in order to improve upon the existing bridge. The project is expected to occur between 2028 and 2029.
